Fabrication and Engraving

Break Cut
A break cut is typically performed by scoring the surface and then applying pressure to break the material cleanly along the score. While this method can be quick and efficient, it is not always precise or suitable for all types of stone, especially those that tend to fracture unevenly or unpredictably.

Saw Cut
Saw cutting uses mechanical force to slice through the material, ensuring more accurate and smooth edges. This method is preferred for applications that require precision, such as when the stone or material needs to fit tightly in a design, or when the appearance of the edges must be polished or refined.

Gauging / Milling
Gauging involves thinning or leveling the surface of a material to create a consistent, even thickness across all pieces. This process is especially important when the material is being used in applications that require precise fits or uniform appearance.

Hand Pitch
Hand pitching is a traditional method of shaping and finishing stone by manually striking it with a chisel. This technique is used to give the stone a rough, natural, or textured appearance.

Honing
Honing is a finishing process used to smooth, refine, and enhance the surface of a stone. Honing involves grinding the surface of the stone with abrasive tools to achieve a uniform and smooth finish.

Eased Edge
An eased edge involves lightly rounding or softening the sharp, 90-degree corner of the material, creating a smooth, subtle curve. This finish is less pronounced than a full round edge but still helps to eliminate the harshness of a sharp corner.
